Was it from Cuthbertson in Glasgow? Klingmann is suposed to have been german. Assuming that it is an average mass-produced piano of that age, you need to find out if it is tuneable. Emile Auberon seems to have been a german-sounding alias used on pianos made by (or sold by) Wheatleands, London. Emile Auberon upright #32,300 from Wheatlands was made around 1910. The Herrburgher Brooks action puts it after 1919, and I could tell you more if you email some photos...

In my experience, it's the stools that cause most of the smell, especially after a warm posterior has been on them for an hour or so! Proper piano removers would walk in with it between two of them, the more people, the more danger.

You have spelt it two different ways, which is right? Overdamper pianos were still made in London in the 1950s. The dampers are located very close to the top ends of the strings, and are always inefficient. As to its condition, you need an on-the-spot inspection by a tuner.

I can't access your pictures to see them clearly, can you email them to me? The soundboard in this typ of mini is the front of the piano, below keyboard. The number might be on the reverse side, and there should also be one inside the tuning flap under the keys.
