th secret is, as Barrie indicated, is to glue all shanks onto the heads first. you need a shank extractor from Heckschers or Fletchers. Boring them out will give you a headache as it is almost impossible to drill at the right angle. Speaking as a qualified piano tech this is obviously a Libyan Piano Death beetle.
I notice the lifeline on the hand holding the specimen is rather truncated. I recommend that you leave immediately

You can tell when a piano is in tune and properly regulated but you will need one of the highest qualified techs in the land, with whom you are fortunately acquainted, to advise you on your used joanna. we rent pianos but you are not obliged to buy the rented piano after the hire term expires but you can put your rental fees towards any piano of your choice.
I am sure there are plenty of retailers out there who will do the same. it's no big deal.

Here in N.E. Scotland, Marr Wood pianos are very common and seem to originate in Aberdeen. Whether they actually manufactured I don't know. Someone will know something up here.

If you have threst of the pedal lyre, then any good dealer/repairer will dozens of old pedals and would also have access to current peadls. If he knows his onions it won't be too big a job to adapt some.
Having no pedals won't affect the tuning in any way of course

400£ for a 70s bentley would be a good buy, providing it's ok.
As psycho says, get a tech to check it and you may have a bargain. Otherwise it may be a turkey.

tippex ! what an idea . Never thought of that.
btw, if you are on the road and need to re-glue a head, heat the caul for the key clamp on the customers cooker and the glue will be set by the time you have tuned the piano.
