Since travelling seems to be an obstacle and you have no where local to buy why not rent a new grand for say 3 months to see what one you prefer will be a charge for doing this but you will end up with what yo want without all the stress.

Ibach use to do 2 ranges in uprights cheaper range built under their supervision in Korea which from memory where called the K-series and their German made range both of which where excellent pianos use to stock the K-series and lots of pianist prefferd them to the Japanese brands selling alongside ...

To the orginal threader if looking at Boston range would stick to the new Boston range in both uprights and grands as these latest technical improvements have only been implemented in the last 18 months.

Steinway every time depending on budget is if you buy Chinese grand and want to upgrade later its virtually worthless.Stick to Yamaha or Kawai new or used and if buying Steinway used get Steinway tech to check over before purchase.

Get your tuner to tighten all the screws on action if keys are loose its a common problem on Welmar pianos caused by the angling of keys in relation to the keyframe.Bushings are quite often worn on the key chaser may need replaced but usually only on the one side and has most likely had heavy usage....

How much are they asking for both pianos,i wouls suggest a new Yamaha B3 or Kawai K3 or an Essex piano designed by Steinway but very much depends on your budget should be able to squeeze a good deal out from your local dealers.Why buy imported used buy new 10 year manafacturers warranty etc.

Yamaha every time plays better,stays in tune better and the movement of the action is miles ahead when both are properly regulated,would suggest trying a kawai GM10le to compare against the Yamaha.Weber just not in the same class
