Re: Distortion when using keyboard with speakers
Hi, I own a Roland RD 300 GX, and I have recently purchased Roland's Cakewalk MA-15D monitors to go with it. However, I have noticed that when playing some particular notes or combination of notes, distortion occurs with the speakers. In this type of set-up, distortion is caused either by over-driv...

What you are feeling is the hammer action coming into play. This is quite normal on the P95. Similarly, there is a slight rebound when you press a key and let go quickly - I've just tried one we have in the workshop here.

Re: Digital out of tune?
Usually, individual notes on a DP can't go out of tune. The samples are fixed so, unless the DP has a microtuning facility, which allows you to change the tuning of individual notes, you shouldn't get any notes out of tune with each other. Most DPs have a facility to tune the whole keyboard up or do...

Your suggested set-up should be ok. Your piano will sound dodgy if you go through a guitar amp, they are not designed to give you a clean, full range sound, which is what you need for keyboards/DPs.

Nippon Gakki was the original company name of Yamaha. The company changed it's name to Yamaha Corporation in October 1987, it's 100th anniversary. If the piano is authentic, it is a Yamaha built in 1938. If the spelling is actually "Yamah o ", then it is probably a fake. I've never seen a ...
