In the case of falseness I always go for the third string which generally seems less false. Goodness knows why. Incidentally, I have an old white Papps wedge but also a wooden one!

Kennards in Canterbury used to have them made ( made in chestnut)in the 19802.
They were made by the coach bulders in Ashford Kent - Crouch?
They are sure to be still there and may be able to make one

If you have a Kaps 1886 grand don't expect it to worth anything commercially even after restoration. If you want to keep it and play it that is different and it's value will be what you make of it.

Bentley is ok. Had new one with some sticking hammers. Took about hour to re-locate butt screws after removal for re-centreing.. They are sort of half woodscrew half metal thread and have to be lined up in all planes- an absolute nightmare .
