Perhaps they've gone all PC lest they 'offend' their non Christian customers. My Hindu friend probably knows (and loves) more carols than ME and that's saying something! Wasn't Brum where the term 'Winterval' was first used with a straight face?

I suppose it makes it easier for bells...I looked up my guitar piece on YT, bouree by Bach and found Richard Digance playing it...except he plays it in D with a capo on the guitar. He then segues into Ain't She Sweet and Cockney songs, claiming that JSB came from Plaistow. New one on me!

Had a 'hymn' today called 'All I Once Held Dear' - modern thing. Well, if the second half of it isn't a very close relation to 'The Ugly Duckling', I'll eat my hat. I was well behaved and didn't launch into 'With a quack, with a quack, with a waddle and a quack...' but it took a lot of self control.

I don't know why I say yes when there are accompaniment requests; I get so twitched, usually about one of the pieces then I fall apart OR worry about falling apart, so it's not enjoyable. Not bothered about playing the organ, except at weddings.

You don't have to play in front of anyone. As an old friend of mine used to say, 'I play for my own amazement'.
You'll be fine - but do tell her if you don't want to do sigh treading, so it doesn't spoil the rest of it for you.
