have the piano inspected by a technician and if possible make sure you go and play it yourself as well... then you will know whether it's a good deal or not, and more importantly, whether you actually like it

I would have thought that for 12k you could expand the range of instruments you are looking at quite considerably.... play lots of all sorts would be my advice rather than deciding from the outset that it has to be one of two Yamaha models. The Kawai RX2 gets some very nice reviews in various places and might be something to consider.... Not sure whether you could pick one up for your budget limit though - but well worth looking at that and the larger RX3 in secondhand listings too perhaps?
