Re: Yamaha? Kawai? Other?
As an alternative for Yamaha/Kawai uprights that sound 'mellow' - I would say really nice and that at the same time are very affordable, I would suggest the 'Venables & Sons' uprights. You can watch/listen a few samples below: http://www.chrisvenables.co.uk/media/videos.htm I must admitt I only ...

Re: Kemble
I meant built in at the factory and not retro fitted. I never found or saw advertised any KC173 with silent system. They use the Yamaha system and that is not available for retro fitting into pianos that have left the factory - that may change but... or maybe not

Re: Kemble
Kemble pianos are produced in Indonesia Is this also true for their grand the KC173? It would surprise me as the KC173 is basically a Yamaha C2 and the C2 is produced in Japan. Does anybody know if Kemble have plans to make the silent system available (ex-factory) on their grand piano(s)? schubert

Re: New Grand <£15000 ideas???
Customer DO care which country and which factory a piano is made in. They also care about whether a piano is shipped out to China part-way through the manufacturing process. But manufacturers are all embarrassed about any Chinese connections and so they create vague claims about "german design...

Re: New Grand <£15000 ideas???
There are many differences between a C. Bechstein and a Bechstein Academy ... but to say that the Bechstein Academy is made in China is misleaading. This is indeed misleading because wrong; Bechstein Academy pianos are not made in China: [urlhttp://www.eastcoastpiano.com/Bechstein%20Pianos%20made%2...

Re: Steingraeber & Pearl River Pianos
Steingraeber will make the the soundboards and the playing mechanism and Pearl River will polish the piano Barry, I wonder what is your source of information here. I have a source that says the opposite, at least if by 'polish the piano' you mean 'put the finishing touches' on it: Chinese pianos ar...

Re: Yamaha to close down Bosendorfer?
I've heard from someone in the know joseph, What do you mean exactly with "someone in the know"? A piano professional [ideally not a direct competitor of Bösendorfer/Yamaha who might have interest in damaging their reputation]? This type of 'information' on a public forum like this one ca...

Re: ESTONIA PIANOS ?
Dr. J. Smith, You are correct in saying that the contact for Europe is Dr.. Venno Laul - the father - ; he takes care of all enquiries, is the contact if someone from Europe would want to buy one directly from the factory and is also supervising the production. Dr. Indrek Laul is however the CEO and...

Re: ESTONIA PIANOS ?
many satisfied Estonia owners reading this will be neither shaken or stirred by your comments. Profit? NO! Profit and being able to sleep at night, YES! To those talking out of ignorance about Estonia Pianos I would say that presumably as often "what is unknown is also unbeloved" Should y...
