Re: I've finally done it - got my baby grand!

Well it arrived yesterday!!! It fits the space perfectly, looks great in the room and I think it plays and sounds really nice!!! It definately needs a re-tune and a when I use the pedal the strings make a bit of a twangy sound but I am thinking this is something the tuner can tweak? I am a very happ...

I've finally done it - got my baby grand!

Just wanted to let you know that thanks to all your help on here I have made my decision and got myself Kawai GM10 Baby Grand. It is due to be delivered on Tuesday! I am so excited! I went for a 1998 model and I have bought it on a deal where I pay a £1250 deposit on Tuesday and 6 months later the b...

Re: What your Piano Tuner Needs - Please !!

These comments on Residential Homes got me thinking, "I wonder if inmates if desired would be allowed to have their own digital piano in their rooms". I'm guessing that one of the biggest losses for the elderly would be not being able to take their pets with them, or perhaps their persona...

Re: Yamaha GA1 - second hand but not in tune

Thanks for that message. I had a look onlne at reviews for the GA1 and a LOT of people are saying that they have had tuning problems.

Those reviews coupled with the fact that this particular one is out of tune have put me off. I will keep my money in my pocket for now.

Thanks again!!

Re: Yamaha GA1 - second hand but not in tune

That's sort of true but if I won the auction and then a tuner said that there was a problem I wouldn't have to hand over the money - I am a regular e-bayer and the worst that would happen is that I would get some bad "feedback" saying that I had bid but not paid! I am umming and ahhing abo...

Yamaha GA1 - second hand but not in tune

There's a Yamaha GA1 that I am interested in. It's actually for sale on e-bay and it is situated in Wiltshire and I am in Birmingham. I arranged to go and see it on Friday but now have noticed that the advert says that it needs tuning. My brother has suggested that I go and see the piano and have a ...

The pedal on my piano was making a clicking noise and it was driving me mad! In an attempt to find out what we could do about the noise my husband and I (and he is pretty good at this sort of thing) fiddled about with the pedal a lot and we actually changed how "hard" it was to press down....

I have got a Rogers upright piano that I got 4 years ago from a place called Acadamy Pianos in Hollywood, Birmingham. I paid £1,400 for it. I love this piano and it has a nice tone and ivory keys - it's from the 40's I think. I have had no problems with it and love it's light touch. I have...

"Silent" note sometimes when pedal is depressed?

One of the notes on my piano sometimes does not play if you have played it a few times in a row and have the pedal depressed - if you just go up to the piano and hit it normally it plays every time so does not seem to be damaged to the point where it will not play. However, in normal playing sometim...
