I am East Sussex based Piano and Music teacher with over 30 years experience of teaching Piano, theory of music, GCSE Music and A level Music.

Most of my students I am teaching in their homes. Also I have my own private studio at Hailsham. My studio is open all year, apart from Christmas and when I take holidays.  Students can still have lessons during school holidays as when long breaks are taken, I often find students don't practice and can take a step back on return.

I offer private tuition on a one-to-one basis and have an excellent pass rate. My students take ABRSM and Trinity graded exams with successful marks.

I teach all ages and believe that is it never too late to learn, my students are various ages and all learn at their own pace.

Piano lessons are held on a weekly basis. I would expect my students to practice in between the lessons, therefore, a piano would be advantageous or even an electronic keyboard.

I can offer a free consultation if you would like to discuss starting lessons.  Please feel free to contact me for any further information.

 My qualifications:

Kharkov State University of Arts, Ukraine. Piano Teacher Diploma, Accompanist.

Sumy State Pedagogical University, Ukraine. BA(Hons) degree.

University of Reading, UK. QTS/RGCE Music Secondary.

Music is scientific. It is precise, specific and demands accurate acoustics.

Music is mathematical. It is rhythmically based on the subdivisions of time into fractions that must be calculated, interpreted and applied instantaneously.

Music is foreign language. Most of the Terms are in Italian, German or French.

Music is history. It reflects the environment and times of its creation, including the cultural and social values.

Music is physical education. It requires exceptional coordination of fingers, hands, arms, lips, cheeks and facial muscles. It also takes extraordinary control of the diaphragm, which in turns uses the back, stomach and chest muscles.

Music is philosophy. It demands research and develops insight and perspective.

Music is art. It allows a human being to take dry, boring and often difficult techniques and use them to create emotions.

Playing the piano improves students coordination, creativity, so they will recognise beauty and will have more compassion.

It also is a great way to help boost self esteem, performing  in front of family, friends and even examiners gives a great sense of achievement.

Any instrument takes time to master and requires hard work and commitment but gives a great deal of pleasure when mastered.
