This is a vertical strung piano, quite common in England around 1900. More time was spent on the case on some of these pianos. In photo number 3 the is an overstrung version of the overdamper not as common. These piano actions were a lot cheaper to produce than underdamper action we use to-day. The undamper action had been around for some time, at the time when these pianos were made.
