I am a classically trained pianist with a passion for teaching. I trained at Bangor University and completed my PGCE at Bangor also. I am now a full time music teacher, worked in Birmingham on a 4 month contract and I have recently returned back to the UK after completing a 6 month teaching contract in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The most important thing when teaching is to ensure that children enjoy their learning and are inspired and enthuses throughout every lesson. My teaching experience ranges from 11-18, however I have experience teaching children from age four and upwards and am equally happy to teach adults. Furthermore, I am capable of teaching students of all levels and experiences.

I specialise in teaching children with special educational and emotional needs, particularly autism and dyslexia. Music lessons often provide a medium for communication for children experiencing such difficulties. I am currently writing a research paper on Dyslexia due to be published towards the end of 2012.

It is important my students have a keyboard or piano at home so they can practice pieces and exercises between lessons. If you do not have a keyboard or piano I would be more than happy to provide information about some good makes and models.
