I have been teaching piano to adults and children since 1983 and take students from beginners to Grade 8 for piano and theory (both traditional and jazz syllabus). The emphasis is on playing for enjoyment and developing confident musicianship as well as good playing technique. Playing from ear and improvisation are encouraged together with music reading skills. Exams are optional. I have some experience in teaching people with visual impairment and learning disabilities.
I qualified as a teacher in 1989 with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) as a music specialist for ages 7 to 12.
My special interest is composition and I was awarded an MA in Composition in 1998.
My fees are £36 per hour pro rata for 2013 - 2014.
Please look at my website www.francesgeorgepiano.com for details regarding fees, bookings and payments.
I teach at my home in Teddington (6 mins walk from Teddington station and on bus routes 33 and R68) and parking is free along the road wherever you can find a space.
