I am a very experienced piano teacher. I offer friendly and informal lessons for all ages and abilities. I currently have pupils aged 6 to 73! I provide tuition in piano in my own home on a new grand piano and teach theory, musicianship and history of music. I teach both adults and young people from beginner to grade 8. Each student has an individual program of learning. I teach for fun and/or ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall graded exams - most of my pupils gain merits or distinctions in their exams. I specialise in preparation for grade 5 theory exams. I was a principal inspector of schools and colleges and a director of cultrual services in a large London borough before setting up my own teaching practice. I have a master's degree in teaching and have taught other music teachers and run PGCE teaching courses. Above all else I believe that learning should be fun!
