About Me:
I have been teaching for ten years, both privately at home and at a fee paying high school in West Yorkshire.

I started the violin aged four, following the Suzuki method. After a few years I begged my parents for piano and recorder lessons, eventually they relented and I have been playing all three instruments since.

My teaching style differs from student to student. I believe that no two students are alike and as such I tailor their lessons to suit their learning styles. I use both suzuki and more traditional concepts in my teaching which plays (no pun intended) to the strengths of the student.

I also believe that learning an instrument is as much about learning music as a whole as it is about learning instrument-specific techniques. Aural is introduced from the very start, especially with very young children who gain a deep foundation of pitch and rhythm from that early stage. Adults also are introduced to aural skills but in a very different way, especially if they have no history of playing music.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching music and would love to meet you!
