Alison Dunlop is a doctoral student at Queen's University Belfast, writing a thesis on the composer Gottlieb Muffat. She received a BA (first class) in Modern Greek and Music and an MA (distinction) in Music from Queen's University and studied piano at the Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama with Roy Holmes. She has partaken in masterclasses with eminent musicians such as John Lill, Rita Medjimorec, Colm Carey, William Howard and Jonathan Plowright. Alison has performed in venues such as the National Gallery, Dublin, and the Waterfront Hall, Belfast. Recent concerts include live recordings for the BBC with her duo partner Ciaran Scullion and with the Ulster Orchestra.

Alison has been teaching piano and music theory to students of all ages and abilities for almost ten years. She is also is a member of Queen's University teaching staff, where she has lectured in both the Music and History Departments on subjects such as performance, Baroque keyboard music and music in WWII.
