High quality, friendly, fun and professional tuition in:

• Theory and composition (classical and popular)
• Aural and musicianship

David teaches flute, piano, singing, theory and composition to a wide range of pupils whose ages have ranged from 6 to 73, from beginners to first diploma level. David’s particular teaching qualities, skills and interests include:
• The ability to patiently increase confidence, particularly in adult learners and teenagers;
• Having faith in those who say ‘I can’t’ or who have little confidence in their abilities;
• Being good humoured, and sensitive to individual personalities;
• The development of innovative teaching methods with a desire to develop well-rounded musicians;
• A particular interest in Dalcroze and Kodály methods and techniques;
• A concern that learning a musical instrument should be about more than the individual lessons themselves, hence the encouragement to perform, attend workshops and get together with fellow pupils in both a musical and social context.

Thank you for pushing!

The choice above doesn't cover patience! David has endless amounts of it - especially for a music "re-run" like me! He managed to encourage, push and cajole me in to believeing that I could still sing (at 40 something) to the point...
