I am dedicated piano teacher and have over 25 years of experience, teaching all ages, levels as well as amateurs. My students have excellent passing rate including diplomas. Marina Petrov launched her solo piano career at the very early age. As a child prodigy she made her debut at the age of eight at the major concert hall in Belgrade followed by her first appearance on the National Television and Radio. Since then she was winning on many competitions and festivals for young musicians on the national level consecutively for 9 years that led to many tours and performances across Yugoslavia. After winning the Yugoslavian National Competition for Young Pianist in 1978 as a result she was given a state scholarship to the Moscow Conservatoire in USSR where she was educated further. While studying in Russia she went trough training as a solo performer with P.V. Messner, chamber music with M. Oleniev and an accompanist course for opera singers with V.Chacava. While there she also studied with V. Saharov and take consultations from A. Gavrilov. After graduation she continued her studies in Belgrade at with I. Lasko with whom she has been closely collaborating for many years. From 1985, whilst continuing her post graduate studies at the Belgrade Academy of Music, Marina worked as an accompanist at the Belgrade National Opera as well as a piano teacher at the L.Davicho College for Music and Ballet. As her reputation grew in the music world she was invited to UK to tutor students of the Purcell School of Music in 1987.

Having moved to London in 1989, she continued her solo and accompanist career performing in major concert halls across the UK and in Europe, playing in many countries including Russia, Ukraine, Norway and Balkan States. She has also been involved in different musical projects including chamber music, orchestral concerts, working with opera singers and promoting contemporary music. Marina had made many recordings of Russian composers such as Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov as well as Bach, Mozart and various other contemporary music. In 1998 she obtained a Degree of Master of Arts by studying at City University and was awarded Sir Jack & Lady Lyons Performance Scholarship.

As well as teaching piano at Watford School of Music and privately, Marina has established herself as an organizer and promoter of many musical events helping young artists to further their careers. Furthermore, her class of students were also noticed on the UK musical scene as they won many awards and prizes at various competitions and festivals. Marina has also closely worked with Prof. Carola Grindea on prevention of occupational injuries in musicians for over a decade. She is also Vice Chair & Editor of ISSTIP. Look up!
