Jacinta Patricia Holden

Tony Fountain Piano Grade 8 Piano, Grade 6 Theory, BMus, MMus

I have over ten years of professional performance experience as a solo artist for weddings, parties and functions, and as an accompanist for instrumentalists, vocalists and choirs. I am available for examinations, recitals, concerts and festivals, recording sessions and shows in the Yorkshire region. I can perform in a wide range of genres from popular through to classical and jazz styles. I also have ten years experience as a piano tutor, both as a private tutor and teaching small groups and individuals at the popular Keech School of Music in Hull. In 1999 I was awarded the Gough & Davy Rose Bowl for the most outstanding senior competitor at the Hull City Hall Music Festival.

Trained as an accompanist at the University of Hull I graduated with a First Class BMus degree in 2007 specialising in Advanced Performance and Accompaniment. Two years later I completed a Masters degree in Music specialising in performance and performance analysis. I studied the piano with Irena Glushenkova, a former tutor of the Moscow Conservatoire. In addition, I have received specialist piano tuition from some of the country's leading solo artists including Benjamin Frith, Colin Stone, the Cann Twins and Sarah Beth-Briggs. During my time at the University I have accompanied for numerous assessed instrumental and vocal recitals.

I am the resident accompanist for the Marueen Hunter Singers based in Hull, East Yorkshire. The MHS is a choir with over 80 members and they have performed in such distinguished venues as Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Cathedral in Notre-Dame. In addition, the choir will be performing in the Vatican in October. Alongside this, the choir have performed in front of HRH Prince Philip, Prince Edward and Her Majesty the Queen.

Tuition:

Students can choose from a range of subject-specialisms including the ABRSM syllabus (traditional, jazz and diploma syllabus), theory, jazz piano, keyboard, chord charts and popular styles. You can change your subject-specialism at any point, or you may wish to alternate between different styles for variety. Regardless of the path you choose, all beginners will recieve a balanced, well-rounded programme covering all the essentials, after which point you can choose the route that best suits your needs.

Weddings & Functions:

A live pianist adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to your special day. I play a range of popular songs, classical works and jazz standards, or alternatively I can customise a play list from my collection, or you can add to it with special requests of your own.

For venues with no in-house piano, I can provide my own high-quality Roland stage piano. This has the advantage of being easily manouverable and means that your ceremony or reception can be set up just as you want it.

Check out my website for samples of live and recorded performances. References and quotes available on request.
