I am a dedicated, friendly and enthusiastic piano teacher and performer with experience in teaching young and older beginners, intermediate level and post-grade 8 / Diploma level students. I teach both piano and music theory for all grades and take an individual approach with each student in order to ensure fast progress and enjoyment for all! I am willing to teach committed students who want to play just for pleasure as well as those who would like to be entered for Associated Board graded exams. I currently hold a 100% pass rate for all students I have entered for ABRSM examinations, with the majority achieving merits and distinctions. I have been teaching for six years, having previously taught in Thomas’s Preparatory School in Kensington, and I currently teach at Eaton House School in Belgravia whilst running an extensive private teaching practice from my studio in South West London.
Background: Having spent seven years as a Junior Exhibitioner at the Royal College of Music in London, I was also awarded a Senior Music Scholarship to study for my A Levels at St Paul’s Girls’ School. I then went on to continue my piano studies at the Royal College of Music before graduating with a BA Honours degree in Music from Cambridge University where I received an Instrumental Bursary. Since leaving university I have gone on to receive my MA degree from Cambridge as well as being admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music with Distinction. Having been taught by some of the world's leading performers and professors I have continued to compete in competitions and festivals across the country and perform in prestigious venues such as St John's, Smith Square and St Paul's Cathedral in London. I am also an educational Music Editor and worked for almost 3 years at Faber Music as the Editor for Sing Up, the national, government funded singing programme for primary-aged children.
