I embrace the responsibility as a music tutor to pass on knowledge and skills in a way that is approachable and relevant to each individual pupil.

I allow a pupil to develop at their own pace, whilst challenging them to achieve all they can.

I teach using the best of both traditional and contemporary materials and techniques.

I travel to a pupil, allowing them to be at a familiar instrument, in the comfort of their own home.

Learning about music, whether practically or theoretically, should be fun and something to look forward to.

I have been playing the piano for 17 years and the guitar for over 12. I draw from my experience as a composer and performing musician, and from my own musical education to harness principles and techniques to teach to pupils. I am also continually developing my teaching skills through ABRSM examinations and supporting literature.

I also have experience mentoring younger piers whilst at school and university, aiding in instrumental techniques, expanding knowledge of music theory and teaching composition processes.

I graduated from Coventry University in 2009, as a B.A. (Hons) in Music Composition and Professional Practice and I achieved my Grade 8 in piano in 2006. I have a wide and varied background in both composing and performing. I am passionate about developing a good musical education with pupils as this impacts greatly on both instrumental ability and general musicianship, enabling the true enjoyment of music across both social and professional aspects of life. I am secure in my own abilities, whilst simultaneously being aware of my limitations - to the benefit of each individual pupil. As a member of the Musicians' Union, I maintain professional conduct with my organisation and administration; as a tutor, I endeavour to teach in an entertaining and engaging way.
