I have been teaching piano in Charmouth for four and a half years, and my pupils range in age from 7 to 75. I teach beginners, improvers and intermediate level students.

Pupils can prepare for the practical and theory exams of the ABRSM, however if pupils do not wish to take exams, we usually use tuition books alongside various piano pieces. These include classical, contemporary and easy jazz pieces.

Lessons are structured whilst being fun. I am very patient, but expect pupils to make progress, and encourage regular practise. We are only together a short time each week, and so the pupil must be prepared to put the time in between lessons. I have detailed practise notes to this effect. In this way we can achieve great music!

I aim to cover various aspects of piano, to build up the pupil's confidence in their abilities.

We hold a concert each year when pupils can play their chosen pieces.

I attend various courses held by ABRSM and the Teachers' conference in 2011. I completed the Effective Teaching Course in 2010. I am the pianist in a local swing band.

Charges are as follows: £13 for 30 minutes, £19 for 45 minutes, £24 for one hour.
