For over 20 years I have been teaching piano privately and in school. From 2000 to 2004 I taught piano privately in Aberystwyth and I am delighted to be moving back there.
I teach children and adults, beginners to advanced. My starting point is to find out what you would like to play, whether it is classical, jazz, musicals or songs from the pop charts.
My pupils have had great success in the ABRSM exams and I find they are useful in providing a goal to aim for. The music on the syllabus is very well chosen and pupils enjoy the selection of classical, romantic, modern and jazz pieces. However, if you don't want to enter for exams, I am happy to find other goals for you.
I also play the oboe and cor anglais and am looking forward to re-joining the Philomusica orchestra, and to playing chamber music.
