First digital piano advice please.

Post by jedbo »

Hello all, I have been learning the piano for about 5 months, practicing at home on a yamaha E313 keyboard and then having my weekly lessons on a Kawai grand piano. I am wanting to upgrade to a full size digital, but could use some advice please on choosing a suitable model. Firstly, I would prefer the keys to have as near as is possible weight that is simalar to that of a piano ( The Kawai that I learn on is heavy apparently). secondly it would need to have three pedals. Thirdly, size is an issue as regards depth rather than length, narrower would be better. Im not interested in having hundreds of different sounds, in fact one good one would be sufficient. Got a budget of about £700 at the mo but could leave it longer to afford the more suitable instrument. Sorry if this all sounds a bit vague but it is written to match my playing. thanks for any replies, even if it is just to highlight ones to avoid that would be wonderful. jedbo.

Most of the digital pianos in your budget will not have three pedals - or at least the good ones!

You should try out a Yamaha YDP-140 and then a Casio PX range model. I think the PX300 range is out or is about to come out.

Thanks for the reply, I will give them both an audition once I have tracked down a suitable retailer.
