I have owned a kurzweil K100 for several years (16 to be precise)
Over this time it has served me very well having moved many times and been played in many places.
Recently however, it had an accident witha glass of wine which has rendered about 1/3 of the notes silent. In the EH area several of the music shops I have visited haven't heard of Kurzweil and therefore conclude that it is too old to even consider for repair.

Does anyone have any suggestions on who or how I should go (to) about a sensible thought process (and estimate) on repairing the dammage

Kurzweil is a relatively new brand to me. I am currently looking into purchasing a PC3x or possibly a PC2x for gigging.

Although I can't personally talk about this model, no matter what brand it is, if the keyboard is 16 years old, fixing it could cost more than the keyboard is worth. On the other hand, as it is far expired its own warranty, if you're up for it, you could open up the unit and clean the keys where the wine has been spilled. Any sugar in the wine will go for the electronics. Using rubbing alcohol, you could remove any of the sticky residue and leave the keyboard in a warm dry place to dry out, ideally where the sun will get at it for direct heat. If you opt to do this, do so at your own risk, tho'! Don't be coming after me for a refund!

How long ago did it happen? One thing is for sure, the longer you leave it, these less successful or possible the repair job will be!
