How to find a piano teacher overseas?

Post by DTJ »

Hi all.

I wonder if anyone would know where I could look to locate an overseas piano teacher. My family is currently living in Abu Dhabi and I am having real trouble trying to find teachers here. Are there any websites or places you know of that I could contact that may have lists of teachers? There are thousands and thousands of expats here and I am sure there must be some out there amongst them. There are one or two music schools here but I was hoping to find someone who would give lessons at my house. Any ideas gratefully received!

The local church community amongst the expats would probably have an organist/choirmaster who could help. Is there an expats newspaper/newsletter? Or an expat choir? You need to think sideways a bit! Find some musicians and go from there.
I play for my own amazement... :piano;

Thanks for the reply. I've tried the various expat forums and clubs and come up with nothing. I hadn't thought of the church though, I will try there!

Thanks again.
