I am entirely new to piano. I recently received an electronic keyboard the other day.
are there any websites or really good pieces of software that I can use?
I suppose this shows how ignorant I am.
I thought there must be one or two good websites that people could recommend that will show me the basics and possibly explain some of the things that you just mentioned.
You may get piano lessons in the comfort of your own home. Try to go to this website www.learnpianoinyourhome.com
take piano lessons at home
I have used Rocket Piano which is an online piano course, and it is excellent. If you go to my website, which is on my signature and go to my free lessons page, they offer a free trial and they are also doing a special offer to purchase the whole course at the moment.
Alternatively http://www.synthesiagame.com/may be better suited to you. It actually allows you to use a midi keyboard. It’s definitely worth checking out.
Hope this helps.
There are some great software programs out there. I have reviewed the ones I think are the best on my website. I agree that Rocket Piano is probably the best for content vs price. Go to the http://www.playperfectpiano.com/best-piano-software.php for a review. There is also lots of info on all aspects of learning and playing the piano.
