Do you mean a CV? If you're in america the requirements might be slightly different, and therefore you'd be better asking on the Piano World site, which has a very comprehensive teaching section. If you're asking about Great Britain, then Mark or Joseph or any of the other teachers on here will be able to help - I'm just a tuner so can't realy help you - sorry! Good luck!

What you would need is a professional CV framework:

Curriculum Vitae

1. PERSONAL DETAILS

Name:
Home Address:
Telephone:
Mobile:
E-mail:
Date of Birth:

2. EDUCATION
Stating the institution and date of attendance, starting with the most recent and working backwards.

3. QUALIFICATIONS
Mention Ongoing and Obtained qualifications starting with the most recent and working backwards sequentially.

Postgraduate qualifications/diplomas/certificates;
Graduate degrees mentioning modules covered and specialisms;
GCE ‘A’ levels (mention grades and year of completion)
GCSE (see above)

4. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In-service and school-based training/courses
Refresher courses not mentioned above. This section would deal with less formalised courses such as in-service training, seminars you attended, training days, etc. that you have attended to keep up to date, fresh, etc.

5. WORK EXPERIENCE
Mention what you did and where you did it.
Include any achievements or awards.

6. INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES

7. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
e.g. full driving licence and anything else that would be relevant to the needs of your job that has not been mentioned elsewhere.

8. REFEREES
Include name, address and telephone number of normally two referees that can comment on your suitability for the job on which you wish to embark.

Think also about size and choice of font - simple is often better because it has to look professional. So forget about funky cliparts and comic sans! Use bullet points where possible and not solid prose. Think too about your e-mail address. If you don't have something civilised and sensible sounding then get one! Don't stick in something like sexylips@email.com!

Marky,
Thanks for the tips and format. Just one more thing do you think it is sensible to use online sample resumes and then prepare mine by changing the content. I found a few links please let me know:

They seem okay although I'm not as fussed by the last one.

There are some things like Education, Qualifications, Experience and References that must be included but all those other bits can be adjusted to suit the setting or demands of your job.
