Carpet cleaning moving piano

Post by planete » 11 Oct 2011, 20:08

I am having my carpets professionally cleaned, are there any risks to my upright piano? If there are can I do anything to make sure the piano (3 year old Kemble) does not suffer? Tuning is due in the next couple of weeks so any effect on the tuning can be put right then.

They may ask you to move the piano out of the room - the humidity of the room will go up and put the piano out but as you say your tuner is coming soon

Domestic help have a habit of banging the corners of pianos and if its Polyester it will chip its one of my most common Polyester repairs

Hi,
I have a better solution for that, you can shift your piano to the next room So that you can protect your piano from any damage.
