BBC 4 Christopher Nupen documentary films

Post by genaa »

Hi Folks,

Don't know if any of you caught the recent BBC4 films by Christopher Nupen on famous pianists...they showed his 1970 'Ashkenazy' on 17 October and Evegeny Kissin on 24 Oct - might still be available on iPlayer... there is also the new film on Karim Said coming on 14 November, 7.30pm BBC4.

For anyone that did see them, or is still able to view them, I have a question.....

what is the piece of music that Ashkenazy is playing at several points during the film - particularly beginning and end.... I would really like to find out what it is :)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

For all their faults, the BBC are v. helpful about finding out things like the names of bits of music...ring the duty desk and ask.
