Yamaha Piano

Post by Madasafish »

Am looking to buy first piano - have done some research and have decided to go for a Yamaha. Have found a second hand Yamaha U1 Overstrung- serial number G1217881 which I believe is at a good price. How would I find out age and value of this item! help!!!

Use the search button on this site with Yamaha U1 as the query.
Serial numbers above 4 million are prefered. Pianos wear out with use.

It's very old.

Unless it's less than 2K and immaculate I'd try and find something newer. Serial numbers above 4 million are better pianos.

If you want to proceed with this one get it checked out by a tuner. There are issues that can afflict U1s and U3s such as bridge/soundboard problems and hammer spring loops.
