I am looking to buy a second-hand Brooklyn piano.
I have already viewed and played and am very happy with the way it sounds.
I have a serial number (25974) but cant find any worthwhile information or age.
Can anybody advise me. I am looking for a piano for ABRSM Grade 2 student for whom available money is tight. Is it better to pay more for a more modern piano.

I don't have any info or dates for Brooklyn pianos, though in my book the company is said to be connected to "Green & Savage" (established 1876). Sometimes photos help showing the whole piano, and a photo showing the internal mechanism with the front panel removed (not a photo from the top lid).

ABRSM grade 2 .... most pianos that are serviced and tuned will be fine for that grade.... but it may help if we knew the budget? Alternatively look at digital pianos to start with and upgrade later. Any piano marked £50 or less (or free) - take care. Best to pay a piano tuner to check it over for tuning stability.
