Please advice on either YUS3 2012(?) or UX3 1988

Post by duongnt »

Hi,

I am new to piano buying and would like to buy an acoustic one for my daughter who is grade 2. Reading comments from here and all over the web, I want to get an Yamaha U3. A dealer in my area offer these choices:

Yamaha YUS3 (2012?) 6400xxx for £5000
Yamaha UX30A 1990 4800xxx for £4100
Yamaha UX3 1988 4400xxx for £3500

The owner had played few pieces for me and they all sound good (I have no clue) and I did not ask any tuner to come with me. The prices all include 5 year warranty, delivery and first tuning at home.

I want to go with the YUS3 option since it is newer even though it is more expensive. Do you think I make the right choice here?

Thank you,
vernon

You'll get a brand new Kawai k300 for that price, with carbon fibre action. Complete with a stool and extras if you pick the right dealer

Hi Vernon,

Thanks for your comment but I would like to go with Yamaha. I have looked Kawai but it does not look as attractive.

Of the 3 choices I have been given, which one would you go for?

Thanks,

The Yamaha YUS3 is the best one of the bunch and a good price
they have a nice sound in the mid range a good action far better than the UX3
it will last a life time if you look after it

Intresting coment about the Kawai. They are a bit like some singers not the best looking but boy can they sing. but at the end of the day you have to sit and look at it as well as listen to it for meny years

Enjoy your piano

My problem with used Yamahas is that there is no way to determine their age or antecedents
