Post by Jelwis » 14 Nov 2016, 16:24

I recently purchased a home which came with an old piano. I am trying to research its history. The front nomenclature appears as follows:
Pedals : 2
Made : Hepburn Brothers
537 & 543 , Sauchiehall street
Glasgow & Branches
Can I know year made : ?
Appreciated who ever can assist
Thanks

Regards

Two pedals is the normal arrangement. Nobody can tell you anything about the individual piano just from the name.

Hepburn Brothers were well-known retailers of pianos in Glasgow for many years from the 1890s to the 1950s. It is unlikely that they actually made the pianos themselves.

If you can post photos here to show what the whole piano looks like, we may be able to tell you more, but there is useful general information about upright pianos at
