Schiedmayer grand

I'd really appreciate help in dating this - the no. on the soundboard is 18426, but the frame bears the no. 34780.
I know from reading some entries that World War I caused problems, and assume this is one of those affected.

Most pianos have several numbers inside, as you can read at
http://pianohistory.info/numbers.html
and that page also points out that some Schiedmayer pianos do not conform to the published numbers. The problem with dating Schiedmayer pianos by their numbers is that there were two separate firms, owned by members of the same family, but using different numbers entirely. We need to know the complete, exact wording on the piano. Also, some Schiedmayer pianos have two numbers clearly marked, one on the soundboard, and one on the case. I will look into this, but may not be able to give you an answer.

The numbers I quoted are not accompanied by any other wording, and most of the words that appear elsewhere are simply the name & address of Schiedmayer, and the various prizes it had won, the main one being "Paris 1900".
Inside the lid, under the name & address, it says "manuf. for Paterson, Sons & Co. Ltd., Edinburgh", and I bought the piano from the original owner, who had received it as a birthday present in about 1927.
All this may not be of much use, but will perhaps ring a bell with someone!

We can say that it was made after the 1900 exhibition. What I mainly need is the complete. exact wording of the name. Paterson Ltd. suggests a date after 1927, when it could have been secondhand. If your tuner can find the action makers' name and number, I may be able to date it that way.

ajazzman.....Sorry for stepping in here - but you may be missing the point about what Bill is asking.
"What is the exact wording" will refer to the inlaid brass wording in the centre of the fallboard only [lid that covers the keys]....

this may be ....

1. J&P SCHIEDMAYER [sometimes followed by Co.]
Address: Neckarstrasse 21- Stuttgart - Germany ??? [stated elsewhere - but will relate to this piano]

OR

2. SCHIEDMAYER & SOEHNE [& sons]
Address: Schillerplatz 4 - Stuttgart - Germany

or does it just say "Schiedmayer" ?
The address should correspond to the exact wording in the MIDDLE of the fallboard - and also if in CAPITAL LETTERS or not/ & Co./ full stops etc.
