Site outage

Post by Barrie Heaton »

Our Web providers got hacked again that's 3 times this month The UK Piano Page has been going since 1996 and we have been hacked 6 times one was an exploit on the forum the rest have been our providers

So we are looking to move in the new year we will also look at doing a site makeover

We have now got space on a V-dedicated sever on a new provider but it will take time to move us over

Will that lead to taking the forum and website offline for a period of time?

We are using one of our old domains to set it all up once each section is done will do an auto direct for that section the forum is more likely to be the first as that is the easiest as there is no licence involved

it just a matter of uploading the forum database to the new site  and point all to the new site just like we did when me moved here 4 years ago it was down for a few hours.

The ISP we are on now will still run for 6 months in the background

Small outage to day to move the site across to the new server and domain

the new domain is www.piano-tuners.org the old one will redirect
the forum should be faster

I can't stay logged into the Forum - have to log in every visit even though I check the 'keep me looged in' box!

That should now be OK now as I reset the Cookies about 5 pm today
you may have to go into your setting for your browsers and delete the uk-piano.org Cookie
