Grade 1! What a relief!

Post by ebonyivory »

I am feeling just a little bit happy! :D Understatement!

I have just got in from work and my son had taken a message from my piano teacher, that I have passed grade 1.

That is all I know at the moment. I am waiting for her to ring me back and let me know the score etc.

I am relieved I have passed after the jelly fingers episode, but I am really curious to see the comments etc.

Phew!!!

No, go ahead, be nosey!!!

I have no idea... still waiting for her to call back... aaarrrgh!

Mustn't get my hopes up though, remember what I told you about the nerves getting hold of me. Will be thankful I have passed and might pee myself  (sorry, out of order I know!!!) if I got anything better!!!

Hope they don't ban me from this sight... I am just so happy!

Thanks for the invite, but that would be a bit of a trek!

Have you put in for your exam yet? They take a while to come through.

This is all so exciting... we can be the grade 1 gang... yes nutter alert!!! Personality doesn't really show in text does it. Imagine a very bouncy person, with a grin you might want to slap if you weren't in such a happy mood when you saw it!!! Ha ha ha!

Hi there, I need some smelling salts!

I couldn't wait any longer, I ran around to my teacher's house to get the paperwork.

Here goes
A1 25/30
B2 23/30
C1 24/30
scales 16/21
sight reading 18/21
aural 18/18

124/150 MERIT... oh my god!!!!!! what could I have got if I hadn't been a jibbering wreck... deep breaths... and relax.

I can't read half of his writing (must be a doctor for his day job!) so will have to get my teacher to tell me what it says tomorrow night when I have my next lesson.

Once again, thanks for the support Dave and co!

Aaaah, don't worry Kim you can get away with using the word 'pee' on here, infact Dave uses more colourful language on here and he hasn't really been told off! ...yet!

Hello lovely 'grade 1 gang'!

Thanks everyone... you know how to make a girl feel special!!!

The aural bit; not necessarily in this order but

they play a short piece and ask a couple of questions re staccato/legato or piano/forte and where in the piece did it change etc

they play some notes, you la la echo back, think I did 3 lots but it's a bit of a blur

they play a couple of bars, twice, but the second time there is a difference, you say what changed

they play a piece and you clap along the time, then say what it was eg 3 beats

Thanks again and stay in touch!

Kim.
