Please help me what is this song??

Post by Sarka »

Hello everyone,
I am glad to see you here in the last day of 2017. I would say "HAPPY NEW YEAR" at first.
An opportunity I heard a lovely song and want to try it. But I don't know what is the song.
Please listen a short recording and tell me who is the composer. Thank you very much~

Sorry, it beats me. As a wild guess, could it be Einaudi ? I would not however call it a song.

It sounds a bit like the Argentinian tango composer Arturo Piazzolla. Too interesting to be Einaudi! :D
I play for my own amazement... :piano;

It has crossed my mind to buy Einaudi's compilation "I Giorni" and to learn a few pieces for my piano club (please see post dated 30 Dec 17). However I am aware that his music divides opinion and I wonder if I would quickly tire of it before having chance to properly learn it.

The style really likes Arturo Piazzolla. I try my best to search his works but no....
Any composer's style like Piazzolla? Thank you~

Re Einaudi, it depends on how long you intend to study it for; a week or so would be fine but any longer than that and I think you might tire of it. I shouldn't project my prejudices really - but to me it seems like 'I Like This Chord And I'm Going To Play it For Half An Hour'! :D

I have been playing through I Giorni for a couple of days now without trying to analyse it. It is one of my short comings that I tend not to think about chord structure but I am slowly realising that I should be because it can make playing a piece easier and if it gets complicated you can busk. I Giorni doesn't get complicated and hopefully it won't be taxing to learn sufficiently well for the concert in a couple of weeks time. So far I am in the "quite like it" camp at the moment but your take on this piece did however make me smile.

I will be seeing my teacher next week so I need to discuss with her getting back into the more serious stuff; perhaps some Bach inventions. Teacher actually introduced me to Einaudi some time ago when I borrowed one of her books for a week. She reckons her younger piano students enjoy playing it.

Teenagers absolutely adore Einaudi, and anything that makes a kid practise is a bonus!
