Ask the guy when was it last tuned and by who, give the tuner a ring and see if they have put any negative comments in their notes

The 122 Wendl & Lung I have tuned are not bad at all bin a wile since I tuned a new one
I agree a good second-hand taller piano would be a better buy

One to look out for are second hand Zimmerman piano but no more than 5 years old they have a nice balance mellow tone when voiced down

Hi Louis very few makes have a table of what they used, some makes pencil it on the bridge you will need to mic each string to work out the paten, or use a computer program to work out the best harmonic curve. their are lots of MWG to mm tables on the net to work out what size you need to order. one...

I have a lot of Woodchesters on my round quite a few in Mormon churches they were poorly made at best, a lot seem to leave the factory only part regulated.

Smart phone? I have a pay as you earn thing which makes/receives calls. I do this a lot for my clients. However, I use families with kids or adults who would benefit having a grand but would not spend money on grand you hire them the piano for £1.00 a year They have to maintain it (with a tuner you chose ) and insure it you do it in Blocks of 3 to 5 years You get cheep ...

Your piano Tuner can get the template form F&N to make a new one, but it will not be cheep
as you have to buy the blank, Pedals and rods. Then get it polished to match your piano

Cost should be under 2K

A cheep grand off ebay just for the lyre then it will have to be modified

Other makes to look at in the Schimmel price range and above are:
Ed. Seiler, Sauter, Ibach Sohn and Irmler by Bluthners


Also, you have Broadwood and Cavendish made in the UK more in you Estonia pricer rage

I would Try Broadwoods at the moment they are still not charging VAT so that will save you 20% over others

BTW Broadwoods Don't do emails just about do phones... but are happy to to get old-fashioned paper letters and you can see lots of their work at the Museum

Its quite common on older Yamahas more so if one of the previous owners was a smoker as they used different plastics for the two components. As they are peeling, the best option is to replace the full key top and front for a good match. Most tuners are happy to do that type of work. depending what p...

I tend to look at cheap pianos for sale or pianos that I have commended I offer them £30.00 for a good set of keys. Your local piano removals may be a good source as they take old pianos to the tip

For fine scratches all you need is a good wool buffing mop, patience, and some White Diamond car polish then normal polish. For me 2 options

1) Box of Swan vestas matches... 5th November

2) De-pin keep old Bass strings if pos, ream holes out, fill with epoxy, re drill for 0/0 pins put in 2/0 pins and restring works well, pins are a tad clicky but piano is now tunable and stable.
