Would agree with all of the above,used market a minefield for a novice,better to buy new and have peace of mind with manufacturers 10 year warranty my choice would be a new Kawai K15,best of luck.

Zimmermann,they where very pricey for a Czech built piano,did have a nice sound.Some wholesalers will sell anything to make a buck,even if the quality is suspect ?,and retailers latch on to them due to the profit margins and price protection on offer,they been getting away with it for about 30 years...

Simple answer maybe that the front slip is catching the keys causing slight friction,quite a common complaint after delivery, caused by poor handling by removers.We would always pack front slip to avoid this scenario,just a thought would get local tech to have a look.

Yamaha have a few dealers who price slash to crazy levels which upsets the other dealers. Now Yamaha need the other dealers to stock their product and act as a free showroom so you can try localy and then go and buy from the price slashers. Simple explanation maybe the nameboard felt may not be flush when your tuner put front-panel back on,no theories of relativity here,or better still long winded reply for a common complaint.

Would go for Kawai K5 as i personally prefer a heavier depth of touch and a fuller tone piano at the 125cm height,otherwise whats the point,also better to buy Japanese as the resale is better if you are ever selling or upgrading in the future,best of luck.

Some smaller grands have weaker tone than some larger uprights, that's true, but I think the W and L 178 should be fine for tone, people seem to love them. The thing about uprights is that you can't control the sound in the same way, because of the limitations of the action, and they certainly don'...

Disagree,for many years the piano wholesalers in the U.K have been overcharging the piano retailers not all but most,why not go to Germany to buy a new Bechstein upright and save £0000s i would, the instrument will carry a 10 year manufacturers warranty and the insurance is not a problem.One example...
