Re: Who can teach me to play this song

1. The youtube video you are linking to is 1 hour 47 minutes long. I suppose you mean the first piece, but you should have said that. I wonder if anybody has about 2 hrs time to find out which title you probably mean. 2. Find a piano teacher in your home town. It is almost impossible to teach a pers...

Prelude E-flat major

This is a composition of mine I wrote a very long time ago, at the age of 17 to be precise. At the time, I did not like the sonatinas my piano teacher made me play and I decided to compose something completely different, catchy, impressive. Meanwhile, I have uploaded the score and a recording onto t...

The "C" in front of Sauter, Bechstein

What is the difference between a piano that has "C. Sauter" written on it and an instrument with only "Sauter" on it (same for "C. Bechstein"/"Bechstein", "W. Hoffmann"/"Hoffmann")?

Re: New Piano

If you wait two weeks, the piano of your choice may be sold! Agree, but there is such a wide choice of dealers and instruments - you may call it a buyers' market - that it should be possible to find another piano that suits in that case. I just wanted to point out that a quick and false decision may...

Re: W.Hoffmann P126

This post is more than half a year old, so maybe no longer interesting... Anyway, I once went to the Bechstein dealer in my city and tested about 6 different Hoffmann uprights (made in Czech Republic under Bechstein surveillance). I found all of them disappointing in sound. Furthermore, touch and ac...

Re: New Piano

Bear in mind the one from the box may not play exactly as the shop one does. Definitely. I recently went to a Steinway dealer just for fun. There were 4 Steinway O grand pianos in a row and each was different in sound, touch and action. One should try the pianos in the shops of a couple of dealers,...

Re: Question about new keyboard

Hi, matijaaa1, the cheapest digital pianos with weighted hammer action are the ones produced by Medeli in Hongkong. They are sold under various names in Europe, most commonly under the "Hemingway" brand name. https://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.html?xsid=4d4c2a06d5bd07ba0dd11718051c925e&sw=hemingwa...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hallo everybody, just registered to this forum and reading through the various posts. I started playing the piano at the age of 6, had a teacher until 18. Now I am just playing for myself, also occasionally composing. Some of my home recordings can be found on the IMSLP website (International Music ...
