August Forster query

Hi

What would the year of manufacture be for an August Forster Super D serial number 163192?
Are Petrof still making "August Forster" pianos? If so how can you tell the difference between
a Petrof model and a genuine A.F.

Thanks

Re: Secondhand Yamaha U3 versus New

Thanks for all the advice. I seem to have touched a nerve with the reference to Mark Goodwin. It just so happened that his site was the one that google threw up (and his ad appears on this forum). I don't know the guy at all but I think the website is pretty well laid out. After all the debate I now...

Re: Secondhand Yamaha U3 versus New

Secondhand Yamaha U3 versus New

Hi I have been looking at Mark Goodwin's website. Very interesting. In his buyers guide he suggests that U3 pianos made between 1975 - 1985 are the cat's pyjamas. He quotes Larry Fine's book and generally make a very convincing case fo rthe excellence of these instruments. Which is encouraging. I am...

Piano Shops in N.I. recommendations

Hello

I am thinking of buying a second-hand Yamaha U1 or U3.

I live in Belfast - has anyone bought a U1/U3 from a
shop in Northern Ireland? If so - was it a positive
experience and would you recommend the shop?

Any advice at all would be most welcome.
