its the young ones, quite often they post to other media if they don't get a response instantly like on Facebook then they ignore it as it has been answered somewhere else.... They are just Rude in my mind, but in there world its the norm as they are not used to face to face world so they real world...

if you double click on the image it will enlarge, then if you click on it again it will zoom in

you will see normal pins but the string goes over the edge like a waterfall

I bet it is great fun to tune

Changing the plank on this piano will very complex as it looks like it forms part of the bridge system. Also, looking at the tuning pins they look like they are pulling forward, could be the angel of the photo but there should be a 7 degree tilt away from the speaking length.

Kemble (not Kimball - they're american) Minx are normally fairly well made and as long as it's been well looked after and not overheated there's no reason it should have the problems that you mention. Why not get it looked at first before you start to panic? Look at the piano its a top tuner Kemble...

West cost of Lancs never get much most of the jobs I had to cancel on Thursday was in Blackpool they had none but it was gridlocked here and where my driver lives on the other side of Grain road it was closed it's always one of the first because of drifting All this very dry weather is killing a lot...

you have 3 options

1. you can change the pin block
2. you can change the tuning pins come up 2 sizes in tuning pin
3. chemical option, the cheapest option would be to pin-tite it or super glue it

All depends on your tuners skill set

Most UK pianos that were made pre 1960 upright used 0-0 x pins if the piano has to be restrung it can anything up to 7-0 x Today most tend to use 2-0 x this is to make the pin titer because of the greater surface area, as they user nickel plated pins which are more slippery than just mild steel ones...

Not tuned a new Bentley for about 10 years they were very bad pianos, most of the retailers around her dropped them. However, they may have improved since then but a secondhand Kawai would be a better buy so long as it's not too old

3 to 4 weeks before you have it tuned. The bowl of water was OK in the 60's but theses days modem insulation and as you have under floor heating I would recommend a Piano life saver will save you a lot of problems

The only problem you tend to get with that age of Kawai piano is the first singles strings tend go a tad tubby. Thy tend to be small changes not big ones. Take the string scaling that was a big difference to the sound but unless you got out a micrometer and tape measure you would not see the change by looking. While not as long lasting as new set of hammers. Have you considered a recover by Abel if the shanks and rollers are in god shape would work out cheaper if you are getting through a lot of hammers
