Sarah Lynsey Thomas I have a BMus degree level music, where I studied at Cardiff University. My major studies, were performance in piano and composition. I am also a qualified music secondary school teacher, studying at UWIC.I am a very accomplished pianist and have played for a range of concerts and events.At University, I was chosen to play a piano concerto, which was written by the composer, Judith Weir. I studied piano, and performed at many concerts, whether accompanying or solo work, of a wide repertoire.I have been a key member of a jazz band and the University Big Band, playing for many events across the country.I play the organ for a church in Carmarthen, which has led me to play at many weddings and christenings. I often play in the ceremony and in the receptions, solo or ensemble. I have played for many competitions, solo work, duets and ensemble work. I often accompany singers and solo performances in competitions, concerts and social events. I also accompany many students for examinations up to grade 8 standard. As previously mentioned, I play solo piano of a wide repertoire and feel confident to play any music chosen.I am an excellent sight reader, and so can perform pieces on the day and iff needed last minute.I also have a gift of playing pieces and music by ear, which leads to requests at concerts and events, by the party. This I feel is a great attribute when performing, as it increases entertainment and enjoyments and personalises my piano playing.In addition to piano work, I have many contacts in the music world from South Wales to Cardiff and through to London. This gives people the opportunity for the choice of other performers, such as females and male singers, choirs and solo instrumentalists. |
