Matthew David Collins MA, BA (Hons)



Matthew is a professional accompanist (piano and organ) based in York. Matthew graduated from the University of York, with an MA in Vocal Studies (specialising in accompaniment). He is now Head of Music at the De Costa Academy of Singing, York, accompanying and coaching professional opera singers and students, under Michael De Costa (Principal Baritone of English National Opera). Matthew studied the organ with Christopher Gray (Truro Cathedral) and is Director of Music at Howden Minster and the founder Musical Director of Jorvik Gilbert and Sullivan Company. An excellent sight-reader and sympathetic accompanist, Matthew is available to accompany ABRSM exams and diplomas at all levels, and has great experience in choral directing, conducting and accompaniment.
