Ja Yeon Kang Doctorate candidate



Pianist Ja Yeon Kang is currently studying with Graham Johnson, Ronan O’hora and Charles Owen at the Guildhall School, pursuing her doctorate degree. She has performed in the Barbican Centre, St. Luke, Holywell music room and was presented in the Guildhall Gold concert in Wigmore Hall. Ms Kang won the English Song prize in Guildhall and was a semi-finalist in the Lyons International chamber music competition and recently selected for Concordia Foundation Award. Ja Yeon studied at the Peabody Institute for her Master’s Degree, receiving the Laura Adelberg Award for her chamber work. In her native Korea, Ms Kang holds a Bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University and is a regular lecturer at the Seoul Arts Center. She was invited to perform in the Abingdon Music Festival, Nice Academy in France and the Oxford Lieder Festival.
